Jesus Christ — Risen and Living
It’s hard to believe that Easter has come and gone already.
This year time seems to be flying by. It seems like just yesterday it was Christmas.
It’s very hard to miss Christmas — with all of the Santa sightings, gift giving, bell ringers at the mall, and Christmas songs and movies. With all of this hoopla, one would think that Christmas was the biggest or most important Christian holiday we have.
But if we take a look at the history of the Christian Church, we find that there is one day that has always been held up as the pinnacle of the Christian calendar—and that day is Easter.
It’s the day that God “sealed the deal.” The day that ensures us that Jesus truly is our one and only Lord and Savior and that He died for our sins and rose from the grave to (as the Bible tells us) sit at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
Something has changed in our society. These days there are many people out there who don’t know Jesus as our Lord and Savior. In fact, they can’t really tell you who He is.
There was a lady in a jewelry store looking for a necklace. She said to the salesperson, “I’d like a gold cross.” The man behind the counter asked, “Do you want a plain cross… or one with a little man on it?”
So, brothers and sisters in Christ, during this Easter season, let’s purposefully take the time at every chance that we get to tell people about the man on the cross.
Tell them that He is no longer there, but that He has risen. He has risen from the dead and now lives and reigns forever, giving us the hope that through faith in Him as our risen and living Redeemer, we too will live with Him eternally in Paradise.
It’s the hope that everyone is looking for, the hope that can only be found in a close personal relationship with the risen and living Jesus.
